AIRPORT INFORMATION

Our nearest Airport is Cam Ranh International, it is is about a 1h 30mins drive to the My Hoa Lagoon or a 1 hour drive to Phan Rang city. This airport is also listed as Nha Trang, as this was its original site location. Recently it relocated to Cam Ranh and carries the airport code CXR. There are direct flights from Hong Kong, Thailand, Korea, China, Malaysia and Russia. Internal flights are available from both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. Vietnam Airlines, VietJet and Tigerair currently offer these routes. In our experience there hasnt been too much of an issue when carrying kite equipment but like most low budget airlines there is an extra baggage fee for oversized luggage especially if you are carrying wave boards so please check for details. Upon your arrival at Cam Ranh airport we can have our driver pick you and your gear up making for a much more hassle free experience.

TRAIN INFORMATION

There are many trains running daily to our local train station at Thap Cham. You have a varied choice of seats or cabins. The lowest grade is a hard seat and this is a simple wooden slated bench type, not ideal for long journeys. Then you have a soft seat option which is your more common coach type of seat in an A/C carriage however having large bags can be troublesome as space inside is limited. Next up is a 6 berth sleeper cabin these are ok but we recommend upgrading to a 4 Berth sleeper cabin as the price is very reasonable and make for a much more comfortable journey for your and you luggage. Ticket costs are dependent on the operator and time of travel but from Ho Chi Minh City prices start at around $15 for a hard seat up to $32 for a soft bed in a 4 berth cabin. Please contact for more details on how to make a booking

BUS INFORMATION

Buses are not the easiest way to commute to Phan Rang mostly due to the fact it is not such a known tourist destination or even a major city for the Vietnamese to actually visit. Buses travelling from HCMC, Mui Ne or Nha Trang do pass by but rather than coming into the main city center they tend to do drop offs on the main highway which isn’t the most practical way to go about getting to where you need to be, especially if you are a newcomer to such crazy antics as to be dropped off on a busy highway in SE Asia with all your luggage. I am sure as Phan Rang becomes more popular to visitors this will change for the better in the future. There are some local buses that do of course come in and out of the city center but this definitely requires a lot of patience and a decent grasp on the Vietnamese language to be able to coordinate this. ROAD INFORMATION

If you are 1 of those adventurous types that likes to explore new countries on long journeys by motorbike then Vietnam will definitely not disappoint you. Most notably this particular area has a beautiful coastal road the DT702.  Leading off that  you will wind through the lush green national park of Nui Chua, if you are coming from the North in the direction of Nha Trang. If you are coming up from the South in the direction of Phan Thiet then passing by the iconic sand dunes on the DT716 is simply breathtaking as is the picturesque coastal road of DT716B .
